Giant printing works loom above an empty market in the financial city
TRANSMISSION 01 // THE FALL

THE WORLD
THEY PRINTED.

The first winter did not look like the end. The lights were still on. The presses were louder than ever. Only the people waiting beneath them knew that something had broken.

ACT 01 // THE YEARS BEFORE

ONE WAGE.
NO BREAD.

The presses printed more. The plebs brought home less.

A father reached the ration counter with his pay still in hand. The tax clerk took nearly all of it. While he stood in line, the price of a loaf climbed again. His child could see the bread behind the glass; he could no longer buy it.

Across the district, medicine vanished from shelves and power bills consumed what savings remained. Miss a payment and food, transport or permission to leave could disappear. Debt became forced labor. Above the queue, city screens showed smiling families at full tables and called the crisis a recovery. The government recorded anyone who pointed at the empty shelves instead.

Plebs flee through a financial city as an elevated road collapses and the districts burn
THE FIRST BREACH // BEFORE THE WASTELAND

THE CITY
STARTED TO RUN.

It began with a bridge. A convoy crossed it at dusk; by the time the last family reached the other side, half the road had fallen into the market below. The sirens ordered everyone to stay inside. Public screens still looped yesterday's full shelves. The buildings had no power, and the streets were filling with smoke.

So the plebs ran. Parents carried children past closed clinics. Neighbors dragged strangers out of the wreckage. The towers that printed the money still glowed above them, untouched, while the homes beneath those towers broke apart.

ACT 02 // PRESENT DAY

THE CITY
IS THE EVIDENCE.

Years later, the families who fled the bridge still tell that story. Their children know the city only as checkpoints, empty towers and fires that never quite go out. The war reached the heart of the empire; the ocean corridors were taxed, the fortresses burned and the Financial Megacity consumed the districts it had abandoned.

The elites have vaults, guards and reserve keys. The plebs have routes through the rubble, whispered warnings and a reason to fight back.

THE MACHINE
HAS FACES.

At first, the empire needed ordinary patrols. Then the roads filled with drones and lock-ons. Beyond them came machines with names: the Tax Extractor at the coast, the Data Broker in the server ring, the Propaganda Node inside its broadcast fortress.

Those were only the gates. Behind them waited human rulers whose attacks changed as they were wounded. Every encounter survived by the runners exposed a larger hand on the controls; every lost pilot bought the plebs another hour to escape.

NO SAFE
ORBIT.

The last evacuation lists sent the plebs upward. Families traded everything for a place on a departing platform. The first lane was a graveyard of orbital junk. Beyond it, the Data Broker traded in every signal that escaped the planet, and even the moon base answered to the same network.

From the ground the runners could still see those lights. None of them meant safety. The empire had followed humanity into the dark.

THEN THE
RUNNERS.

The first signal came from the ruined bridge: a route around the patrols, passed from rooftop to rooftop by fleeing plebs. Three strangers answered for different reasons. Their paths crossed above the city on the first Land Assault. They kept the relay alive, opened a corridor for the people below, and became the Noderunners.

THE FURTHER THEY FLY,
THE MORE THE EMPIRE REVEALS.

The first enemies are patrols. Then come armed machines, network guardians and rulers who change their attacks as they lose control. The pilots grow with the threat: charged fire, collected spread upgrades, shields, bombs and their own signature abilities. None of it makes the next gate easy.

THEY FLY
OVER HOME.

Land Assault begins above the streets the plebs fled. Enemy formations own the air, but the runners force a narrow lane open. At the coast, the Tax Extractor tries to collect a price for every escape. Beyond it, the Custodian of Contentment waits inside a vault built to make captivity look like peace.

A pilot learns to read a formation, time a charged shot and catch the first spread upgrade. The empire answers with lock-ons, a mechanical midboss and then its first human guardian—three phases of fire, margin and authority.

EVERY SIGNAL
HAS AN OWNER.

The runners leave the city and discover the cage reaches farther than the streets. Orbital junk breaks the first lane. Extraction arteries carve through the desert; the Data Broker's server ring sells the last private paths; the Propaganda Node turns the Broadcast Cathedral into a weapon. The moon base is not an exit.

Formations give way to crossing lanes, crash shards and broadcast attacks. The pilots learn when to hold a shield, when to spend a bomb and when to trust the distinct weapon of the person flying beside them. Between fights, the bonus routes offer a breath—not a truce.

RULERS FIGHT BACK.

At the Volcanic Fortress, the Leverage Beast hits hard enough to throw a pilot off the line. The Finance Overlord waits behind the Citadel's walls with a changing cycle of attacks. After the rainforest canopy, the Money Printer builds walls of bills in the Fiat Pyramid. Then the Dollar Revenant bends the battlefield around liquidity floods and hunting debt orbs.

The runners' spread weapons can climb from Split Shot toward Overdrive, but raw fire no longer wins alone. Each guardian demands a different response. Each human boss returns with a more dangerous phase. Far below, the plebs can see the sky flash and know the empire is finally being reached.

THE LAST
PUBLIC ROUTE.

The Dead Sea Relay is a short, dangerous detour. Then the pilots return to the Financial Megacity. The bridge where the plebs first ran is only a scar now. Those who survived have kept the route alive, passing warnings through the ruins while every old ingress vector comes back at once.

The pilots carry stronger weapons and harder-won timing. The city gives them no easy landing. Past its edge lie the reserve vault, the settlement engine and the last line of the empire.

ONE LAST
RUN.

Beyond the Financial Megacity lies the breached reserve vault. The Master of Reserves still commands its defenses, even as the ground beneath them gives way. Past him, the Global Settlement Engine binds every surviving debt to one final authority. The Big Boss of International Settlements will not let the line break. And after that, the empire's old forms return together for a last stand.

Below, the plebs are still moving. They pass children through the same streets they once fled and watch the last battle burn above them. There is no negotiated ending: if the pilots fall, the taxes, the patrols and the monopoly on force remain. If the Noderunners defeat the fiat bosses, the machinery that kept life unaffordable and people captive finally breaks.
